What is the Team William 5K?

I began the 5K in 2009 as a way to expand Team William efforts to a larger scale. This year, the 3.1 mile run/walk will be held at Edwin Warner Park on April 23, 2011 @ 9 a.m. All proceeds of the race will primarily contribute to the funding of a Discovery Research Grant for Down syndrome research. Proceeds will also continue to support scholarships for children with Down syndrome who need the valuable instruction given at the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Reading Clinic. Each participant or observer has the opportunity to make a donation to Team William as they pre-register for the event or as a part of their participation on the day of the event. Runners and walkers will receive a t-shirt with their registration, and additional shirts are available for purchase on race day.
