Our Story
Mission Statement: To increase reading scholarship opportunities for children with Down syndrome and promote awareness within the community.
Andrea and William
Team William began as an idea to help children with Down syndrome learn to read. This idea quickly gained momentum as 134 people reached out to raise approximately $31,000.00 in 2005. This money enabled us to create an endowment - The William Hart Spickard Andrea Blake McDermott Team William Endowment - that provides reading scholarships for children with Down syndrome at the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Reading Clinic.
